Hey DJ Craig,
You are most welcome. The tapes are getting old and I want to get them transferred to digital format before they become unplayable. I've had two so far that I had to transfer the tape into another cassette to get it to play. So many tapes, so little time. Keep checking back as I will add more. Tell your friends and thanks for posting a comment.

I have to agree with the first anonymous comment. You are awesome for posting these. I used to sit in my room taping Rodney before I had a driver's license. I had so many tapes but I had edited them all so there was only the songs and an occasional, "Alright....that was Black Flag...." or something Rodney said. I lost them all....or they are just unaudible now from moisture damage. Thank you so much. I am downloading them. I will be listening to them the next couple weeks. I am trying to find demos by a band called the Screwz that Rodney used to play. Oh well, You, again, are thanked many times for what you have done here.

Um, this is the greatest music blog in the history of mankind. I grew up on KROQ and have been desperate to hear these old KROQ and Rodney shows for years. Thank you SO much for posting this stuff. :)

I cannot believe my eyes and ears. Thanks so much for posting these priceless recordings of KROQ and especially the Rodney on the ROQ shows. By amazing coincidence I was recently telling someone about how I wish I had taped the third and fourth anniversary shows of ROTR which I remember so fondly. And, lo and behold, here is the fourth anniversary show! By any chance, do you happen to also have the third anniversary show?

Sorry Anonymous I don't have the third year anniversary ROTR show. If you ever run across it or any ROTR shows please come back and tell us all where we can hear them. Thanks for taking the time to post a comment.

I just came across your blog, I love that you have all these! Just listened to the 4th anniversary show and it was great. Most of these shows were done before I was born, but remind me of growing up in Southern California. Hope there's still more coming. Thanks, man.

Hey Anonymous,
Download a free copy of iTunes, works great. Don't forget you also have to download the giant 234.3MB file from megaupload if you haven't already.

I am soooo stoked to stumble across your blog. I got those Screwz demos and can slip you a copy, if ya want. Do you happen to have the Rodney show with Jello Biafra (from '81)?

Dewd, I totally appreciate this. I dig the artwork too. Nice touch.

Hey Anonymous,
Thanks for posting a comment. Yeah, sure would like to hear the Screwz demos. Post me a comment with your email (I won't post the comment) so I can contact you. I'm in the process of spring cleaning in the real garage right now. When I get the time I'll be digging into the box to see what else is in there. You're welcome & Thanks!

Riff --

This is truly amazing stuff. I wrote the old "Prehistory of KROQ 1968-1978" that just got taken down on Geocities. These tapes filled in *so many gaps* in the 1977-1980 period. And they were a *blast* to listen to. Thank you thank you thank you. You roq!
