KROQ 08/23/80 Rodney Bingenheimer w/Peter Noone

Los Angeles Radio
KROQ 08/23/80 Rodney Bingenheimer w/Peter Noone
That's right, Rodney has his old chum Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits fame as his guest. They reminisce about the early days and play Peter's new album with the Tremblers.
You've got to listen to the entire show because it just gets better and better as the show goes on, a lot of gems get played and I don't mean just the old Herman's Hermits hits.
Note: This show complements my first post which was "KROQ 08/24/80 Rodney Bingenheimer celebrates his 4th year anniversary" (see below), because it was recorded the evening before.
Collect em all!

Holy crap! This is fantastic. Just discovered the blog and listening to these shows is bringing back memories of growing up in LA and having only one half way decent station to listen to. Thank god for Rodney.

Wow! Cool!!!

Here's something for you back - Peter Noone on Howard Stern in 1991 not long after Jeffrey Dahmer was arrested. In this link there are two files - one is the complete segment with Howard, and the second is the part with Peter singing a song parody, "Don't You Dare Have Lunch With Jeffrey Dahmer" to the tune of "Mrs. Brown You Have a Lovely Daughter."

Hey thanks,
Never heard this before. Kinda weird how life is. Jeffrey Dahmer grew up in a community not too far from where I grew up. I think I gave that guy a ride home from a Todd Rundgren show back in the mid-70s. Creepy

Rodney made himself a legend by being the ultimate groupie. I'm proud to say I have had dinner with him more than once. This is a prime example of his show on KROQ, which is to this day still on the air, after an amazing 32 years??? Right on Rodney! Right on Riff!

This has been my favorite of the batch so far. Amazing mix, and a lot of fun w/Peter Noone. Just had a party and we listened to all 5 hours in awe. Thank you so much.

These would definitely be great for a party.. I'm thinking these would also be good for a long roadtrip to anywhere.

Hey typething,
Glad you are enjoying the tapes. Be sure and let us all know where and when you are having the party, cause it sounds like fun!
